Christmas Gift Guide

Christmas is coming (slowly, I promise - we're not ready for the countdown just yet) and with it our first ever Christmas Gift Guide! And we are super duper excited to provide yet another avenue to showcase all the fabulous talent on offer right here in New Zealand. 

But we need your help in ensuring it is a well rounded representation of what New Zealand has on offer to fill you Christmas stockings. Over the coming month(s) in the lead up to its release we'll be asking for your help in filling the content and the genres that we are searching for to fill the pages.

To date we are looking for....

• Traditional Christmas pieces. 
• Bright pieces to tantalise your home. 
• Forest themed pieces for under the Christmas tree (things to gift). 

So we thought we'd share some guidelines on how to supply your content to provide the best opportunity for it to appear in the publication. 

* All pieces represented must be 'Made in New Zealand'. 

* Email content to: hazed@hazellovesdesign.com

* Ensure you identify which theme you are supplying for and which brand you are representing in the subject line. Eg 'Traditional Christmas - Brand: Hazel Loves Design' if you are supplying for the traditional pages.

* Send high resolution images - the highest resolution possible is best (if unsure, basically direct from the camera, not downloaded off Facebook etc as social media sites deteriorate the photos when they upload them).

* Within your email identify which online store, website or Facebook page you would like to have the image link back to.

* Images with white backgrounds are our favourites - it makes it easier to 'clear cut' the images - try shooting product shots on white foam board to achieve this look. 

* You can send through product shots from absolutely ANY brand (it doesn't have to be your own), provided it meets all of the above criteria.

Interested in advertising in the gift guide? Advertising is available in half page sizes ($50 p/advertisement) and full page sizes ($100 p/advertisement). Advertisements can be traditional in format and/or 'advertorials' stylised shots referencing your work. Look What I Bought Last Brochure (6)

I have wanted one of these for a long time and I was so glad that Avon has finally put them in their brochure.  I'm not sure how long they will be available, so if you want one, let me know ASAP.

They are only $14.99 and measure 24cm w x 17cm h x 11cm d.  Bag organisers allow you to switch bags effortlessly and everything has it's place!  I am able to put my wallet on top and I still have room in my bag for more.

What's in my organiser pictured?  Lipsticks and gloss x5, hand sanitizer, bug spray, feminine products, pen, earphones, nappy, baby wipes, tissues, anti-flame cream, sunscreen, Panadol and my shopping colour chart.  Too much information ?? I just wanted to let you know how much it fits!

It's Christmas Time In The City

Well it's not quite Christmas [yet] but stores are starting to put out their Christmas themed products. This is great if you want to get an idea of what sort of products you'll be able to buy for Christmas presents, get a head start on your Christmas shopping or just to start feeling legitimately excited that Christmas is just around the corner.

Today I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite beauty picks for Christmas gifts for friends & family. Perhaps you want to treat yourself too, and any of these would be perfect for that!

First up we have The Body Shop's range of Christmas delights. This year they have three ranges; Cranberry Joy, Vanilla Bliss & Ginger Spice. Each of these ranges contain products like Shower Gels, Room Mists, Hand Lotions, Lip Balms & more. Depending on your budget you could mix & match products from the ranges or buy one of the gift sets available. All these products have been repackaged this year & the redesign is adorable.

Now for something luxurious, how pretty are all these colours from Chanel? They've released their Collection Noel for 2012 & it features this eyeshadow quad which you see above, 3 limited edition glossimers, a nail colour, lipstick & more. Everything is packaged in Chanel's signature black & gold boxes. If you want to treat yourself or someone special in your life then this is the range to look at!

Next we have what I like to think of as the Queen of Christmas treats, Lush! Each Christmas Lush bring out Christmas themed products which include bath ballistics, shower gels, bubble bars, lip scrubs & more. They also have gift packs available including a cheaper Secret Santa alternative if you're stuck on what to buy someone for that. I've tried some of their Christmas products already & if there's one thing I recommend you buy for yourself or gift to others it's the bath bomb you see above. Shaped like a Christmas gift once opened an array of colours & glittery stars are released into your bathtub. It's magical....and don't forget to rattle the present before you use it in the bath!

MAC have released their Fabulousness range just in time for Christmas. A wide range of products have been packaged into gift sets & would make a welcome addition to any makeup fanatic's life. The brushes are miniature & would be perfect for travel. Some of these sets are a little on the pricier side but this reflects the quality of MAC's products. How cute would these look on a vanity?
