SHOP ME PRETTY   Christchurch: The November Event for the Shop Me Pretty market is a twilight garden fete in the beautiful garden at 280  Hasketts Road, Yaldhurst.  2pm - 8pm.  Gold coin entry includes a glass of juice or bubbles.  Go here for more information about this unique event.

I'm going to say it: the Festive Season is drawing near and there's no time like the present to start your Christmas shopping.  No one needs that last-minute-shopping-stress and now, thanks to The Sweet Rendezvous keeping you in the loop, you'll be fine!

Ohoka Farmers Market only 25 minutes from Central Christchurch. 9am - 12:30pm.  Ohoka Domain.

Saturday 9 November
Not Just Babies Market will be running full swing from 9am - 12pm.  St Teresa's Hall, 8 Puriri St, Riccarton, Christchurch.

Sunday 10 November

Sunday Artisan Market art, craft and food.  Be there any time between 10am and 2pm.  Riccarton House, Kahu Road, Riccarton, Christchurch.

THE FRIDAY EDITION

There are couple of fun markets happening this weekend, and I hope that you may be able to pop on over and check them out.

First up there is the Art & Craft Fair happening in Red Beach from 9am - 2pm 

Offering a great family day out, with more than fifty stalls of locally made crafts, art, preserves, cookies and cakes! Make sure you spend a leisurely Saturday strolling around the market.

At the other end of the country in Dunedin we have Market 22 going down, I am yet to make the drive down to this event, but would love for you to tell me what it is like, and how the experience goes for you!

The Friday Edition

Looking for something to do in the world of Indie? Check out Shop Me Pretty! Coming to you live from Rangiora this coming Wednesday. The evening is always loads of fun, with bubbles on entry and fantastic shopping to boot!

The point of difference with the Shop Me Pretty events is that THEY COME TO YOU, with different locale and stall holders every six weeks or so. It is so lovely to have been able to watch this shopping event evolve into what it has. I can't wait to watch it grow and evolve even more!

You can find this weeks event at Rangiora Baptist Church from 6.30pm, Wednesday June 26th.

{The Sweet Rendezvous} Friday edition

Welcome to Friday! Are you as excited as I am to be at this end of the week? Wondering what you can get up to on this June weekend in the middle of winter? 

On Friday (that's today), you should head to the Ohaka Farmer's Market, the market is set in the beautiful country Ohaka Domain! We a fabulous Artisan market every Friday.

On Sunday you should head over to Riccarton Bush for their Sunday Artisan Market. The gorgeous grounds play host to a plethora of designers every Sunday.

Workshop wise, head to the Make Cafe on Saturday for a session on 'Making a Messenger Bag', for intermediate sewers who wish to learn a few new tricks; AND... Made by Me, also have some fun beading action going down!

The Sweet Rendezvous

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I have been working on a new collaboration with Kate of Kate M Handmade, that collaboration is moving closer and closer to release. So today we thought we'd give you a 'Sneak Peek'.

The Sweet Rendezvous is a website dedicating to showing off the very best of New Zealand's Independent world's events! With musicians, artists, designers, and market holders all invited to tell us about their events.

The website has a special focus on the 'small guy', with stall holders and musicians able to register a profile page and list under each of the markets or gigs they will be attending. 

Registration to founding members is $10 for the first six months and this enables them to list for all of the events they will be attending in this time and also all of the workshops.

Whilst we are primarily focussing on the South Island we are also able to feature events further North too. We will be officially moving into the North Island later in the year.

When taking your 'Sneak Peek' just remember that this is still a work in progress, and the official launch isn't until June 1st.
