Santa Claus is coming to town....

My gift from Holly

On Thursday night the gorgeous Deb of Works In Progress hosted the Christchurch bloggers in her home for Secret Santa. Juliet and Miriam helped to organise the event.

Our Santa gifts were required to be no more than $10 and preferably handmade or thrifted. I made the lovely Hannah of 'Lost Seamstress' fame a punk-inspired snow globe (which was a mini-disaster) and gave a pair of Marc Jacobs earrings.

Holly of 'Holly May B' made me a gorgeous stash of crochet goodies, the crochet pet rock (or paperweight) is sitting on my desk at the day job! I'm sure you will all agree that she is one super talented lady!

The evening was such a fabulous occasion and a joyous opportunity to meet some talented Christchurch bloggers.

My gift to Hannah

Although with so much chit chat going on around me I did come to realise how exhausted I have been feeling lately, and how even an event that I would normally enjoy and flourish through was making me feel like the shy-timid teenage version of myself.

I'm not sure where the brave chatty Hazel has gone! But I do wish she would come back!! I'm such an introvert that I really have to work had to have confidence, and when I am tired I really do struggle. I hope people don't think that it is because I'm not enjoying myself!

I am looking forward to many more blogging events in the future. And really appreciating the opportunity to bridge the gap between online and real world.

Do you have a personality trait that you find can be challenging? And, have you met any of your blogging contacts in the real world?

A Look I'm Loving

I just had to share with one fantastic picture I came by that I am absolutely LOVING right now, although this is something I must admit I had never noticed seeing before, I really want to replicate this in my own home.

It's a simple DIY job that will take no time at all however be so effective.

Fonts in Frames!

A series of different alphabet fonts grouped together in a simple classic frame.

If I ever do this project I will show you all.

Enjoy your day,

Thank you so very much!!! I'm so excited, I feel I have almost fully graduated into the blogging community... I have hosted my first giveaway, won an award, have regular visitors that I see at least once a week... now I just need to hit 100 followers and then I'll have a party!!

For this reward you need to write seven simple things about yourself so...

  • I like to read!
  • I love to blog (obviously I am on here on the time!!)
  • I love Jamie Oliver's food.
  • I have a chronic shoe addiction, refer post below :)
  • I love summer way more than winter!
  • My home is decorated in monochrome, black, white and hints of silver and I am too scared now to introduce colour.
  • I'm getting married this year on Sunday 10th October 2010 at 1.10pm
I want to pass this award onto Bumpkin on a Swing a gorgeous site, you'll be impressed with all of the hard work being done by this couple on the coast of America, helping with the devastation brought on by the oil tragedy. Every time I visit her blog I get tears in my eyes, and tonight's post is no different!!!

Inspirational Blogging

This is a great blog, and I have found today's blog about Piper's vision and dream of opening an online store, something I could relate to. (You may have seen my blog earlier in the week about my visual interpretation).

It is a great site for those of you out there with intentions of starting a business in the design field or those of you already working in small businesses and have the desire to know more or network with like minded people
I really liked the interview they did a couple of months ago with Jen from Made By Girl
I guess this blog just resonates with where I am at, at the moment.
But I think you may also be able to appreciate it too.

Hope ya'll are having a lovely weekend.
It isn't too chilly here in Queensland today so have been making the most of the sun!
