Bridal Shower Planning

Today I'm spending some time at home, planning the Wedding and the Bridal Shower so I am hoping that you all may be able to point me in the direction of some fun Bridal Shower games??? I've found a couple so far, but I'm looking for something fun, but not crass??

One game I have come across is called; 'KISS THE PIG'
How to play: Guests sit in a circle; the maid of honour (or other brave soul) stands in the centre of the circle. With absolute seriousness, she pretends to hold a small, imaginary pig out in front of her and says (with total confidence), "I kiss the pig on the nose." She kisses the invisible pig's snout and passes him to the guest on her left. This guest, in turn, says "I kiss the pig on the earlobe" (or other body part), kisses him, and then passes the pig on to the next guest, etc. Guests must always select unique body parts to kiss. When the pig has been passed around the entire circle, the maid of honour stands up and announces, "Okay, now you have to kiss the person to your left exactly where you kissed the pig!" One by one, guests must follow her saucy command.
Another is called; WORDS OF WISDOM
How to play: Tuck a pretty blank card into the shower invitations and include a note asking guests to inscribe the card with their advice for a happy marriage. They should come to the shower prepared to read their card to the group. Their words of wisdom, encouragement, and well-wishing can be in the form of a recipe, a poem, a humorous anecdote, and so on. Encourage guests to be creative. After all the cards have been read, the maid of honour can compile them in a scrapbook for the bride. This sweet activity goes especially well with dessert! Although because I've already sent out the invitations I was just thinking a bowl with some pretty cards next to it???

The theme is 'Pink & White' it is so easy to find inspiration for the afternoon...
'Cupcakes, champagne & cocktails' is what the afternoon is all about..
Curious, what is everyone's favourite cupcake icing recipe? I can't get mine to taste perfect yet??
I'm also on the hunt for some really simple Pink Cocktails.. any suggestions?? What do you think of the 'Rasmopolitan'?
Pink Drinks1-1/4 parts VOX Raspberry Vodka
1/2 parts Cointreau
1 part Cranberry Juice
squeeze of Fresh Lime Juice

Mix in skaker half-filled with ice.
Pour into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish with fresh raspberries or a lime peel.
Doesn't he look like a cheerful bartender??
Then finally... presents, invitees keep asking what we want for presents... I don't know? We don't expect presents, but of course I like presents!! Oh dear... maybe if I just say 'something small for the honeymoon'?? Because our Wedding Registry is with a travel agent, so this will fit perfectly, and things like luggage tags etc are not expensive... what do you think??
I know I am asking for a lot of advice on this post, so I thank you in advance for all of your great ideas!! xoxox

great post, great photos:) i just went to a bridal shower yesterday. i am not a huge fan of games:), but there was one where we all had a certain amount of time and had to write down something related to weddings for every letter of the alphabet and that was kind of fun!

I think that cupcakes are the way to go, but they are time consuming.

All the ideas sounds like so much fun and the theme is so pretty!
Shouldn't your bridesmaids be planning your shower though, I mean you've got a wedding to plan girl!
And the purpose of showers are for the presents. Opening them is the main attraction!!
Your so selfless for not wanting any, but it's loads of fun getting good stuff!

A really good game involves the groom to be :) Pre ask him questions. You can do it face to face or mail him the questions and have him write them down. Then at the shower, the bride to be answers them and tries to match up the answers (kinda like the newlyweds game). Also, the guests will each answer as well (on a stylish piece of paper of course!). The guest with the most right, wins (and gets a lovely prize). As for the bride, she gets pre wedding gifts (also from the groom) according to how many she got right. If only answered say 1-3 correctly, she would get a pretty bad gag gift that her husband to be picked out. Say 3-5 right, it would be a nicer but cute funny gift. And for many good match up answers, she would get something special from the groom to open in front of all.... Get's lots of laughs and Awwwww's from everyone and gets everyone involved (groom!) Love the pink and white theme you've got going on here :)

Thanks everyone for all of the lovely ideas!! I love the game ideas, as well as the cocktail website mentioned (they look divine!)

@ JoJo I didn't mention it in the post, but I'm only having one bridesmaid and she lives in New Zealand, as does my Mum, and my Mother In law to be, so that is why I'm organising it all!! But it is fun, I love planning these sorts of things!!

Appreciate everyone's help!! :) Hazel
