I need some help, I have a gorgeous Marc Jacobs' dress, it is mostly linen but it has a deep purple satin seam/panel in it. Stupid me decided to put it in the washing machine because I was too lazy to hand wash it! Yes that's me the stupid one sitting in the corner... so now the purple die has run onto the linen section of the dress.
How do I fix it? Should I risk taking it to a dry cleaners? Is there a magic potion which will fix it without ruining it further?? HELP!!!

Oh no Hazel, I am sorry I don't have any home remedies for you! I do have an award for you at going glam with gigi :)
Take vodka and saturate a cotton ball, dab in on the linen where the stain is. Then take a napkin, paper towel or thin flour sack cloth and place it over it. Take a piping hot iron and press on top, but don't leave it there. If there is hope of getting the purple out, you should see a little on the white cloth. Good luck!
Style Attic beat me too it, the strongest vodka you kind find, like 100 proof.
Might due it, if not, probably doomed...sorry!
Ahhh on no!! Not the Marc Jacobs!!
I ruined clothes like that before too. I have no good suggestions unless you consider dying the whole thing one color.
I like this, I'll try the vodka idea and if it doesn't work, I'll just drown my sorrows with the left overs!! :) Hazel
ARGH! I thought for sure it was a gonner. But I've never tried the vodka trick. That's so funny; I was on a photo shoot just last week and the photographers assistant told me about the vodka trick to remove price tag glue from items. And yes, if it fails, instant consulation at hand. Good luck.
