Today is the release of Eclipse in Australia... so to celebrate I am doing something that I am absolutely petrified about... I have been self-indulging lately and doing some writing... I've never been good at English, I recall barely passing in High School, but it is something I enjoy doing.
So I thought I'd share some of it with you... it is only an early-draft, I haven't had anyone review it for me yet and it probably isn't very good. I'm still reading 'Novel Writing for DUMMIES' and self teaching.
I'm sharing the second chapter because I detest the first chapter! But basically the aim is to write a book about a Vampire Heroine in a 'Devil Meets Prada' come 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' style, and with the 'Vampire theme' it seems appropriate to show it today or never.
As I said incredibly self-indulgent, probably will never be shown to the light of day again... but here we go..
I've temporarily removed this post, I'm concerned about the number of hits it is getting daily, and I don't know where people are coming from to read it. If you've come to check out my writing please comment below and let me know where from.
I just want to know people are genuine and that no one is coming to plagiarize my work (I know a little paranoid!!) but I'm hoping to become the next Stephenie Meyer (yeah right!! LOL!)
I also promise to keep writing the story so eventually it will get to the stage of actually being published.
But that probably won't be until after the vampire craze 'dies down'. Although keep the Damon, Eric and Edwards coming Hollywood!

Okay so I've done it, and shared.....

I loved it! I really liked it a lot, I love the premise, and I definitely think you should keep working on it, you definitely have talent, Hazel! XO!
i answered your s'more question on my blog:) glad you asked! and the name s'more is just silly...i'm not sure where it originated from, but yes the premise is "give me s'(ome) more!":)
Hazel-that was really good. I love your descriptions. Thanks so much for sharing!

I am a writer as well and I can tell you that you don't give yourself enough credit. It may need some tweaking but you have good work here. My only advice would be to be careful with the vampire stuff. It's so over done right now that no matter what you write, if it is about vampires, people with think you're copying even though clearly you are not.
I don't write about vampires because as much as I love true Blood and everything Twilight, it just isn't my thing. I was obsessed with Twilight when it first came out and I had to make a point of not having the movies or soundtracks on when I write because I didn't want to subconsciously leach off the story. I had to re write a whole chapter once because I thought it sounded like Bella, which was NOT what I was looking for.
I hope you'll post more. I'll be following to see.
Michelle
