My name is Sue Deakin and I moved here from Australia with my partner Sam over five years ago, never expecting to love Christchurch as much as I do. I went back to Adelaide a few times after the quake and my sister-in-law in Adelaide had her own business and was already making soy wax candles. She encouraged me to start making them too, probably as a way to keep me busy and thinking of other things besides earthquakes! I did my first market at the Shabby Chic Market in November last year and Kandle Co has definitely evolved since then, and continues to do so. I've met some amazing people along the way and the support I've received from the people of Christchurch has been fantastic.
Clicking on... We're rebuiding so I'm a little addicted to Houzz website which is great for inspiration. Then there's Facebook of course, I've been clicking on a lot of that lately thanks to my Kandle Co page.
Following... I'm very new to Instagram and I now know what I've been missing! I'm also following some cool stuff on both Facebook and Pinterest.
Thinking about... Well I should be thinking about my interactive assignment but it's a lot more fun thinking about my Kandle Co business!
Listening to... Sia, an amazing Adelaide born singer/songwriter... as well as being just a little bit in love with the Bruno Mars song 'When I was your Man'.
Saving for... our overseas holiday in August, but for Paris in particular.
Obsessed with... all things vintage and Downtown Abbey!
Reading... Andrew Denton's Enough Rope book from a few years ago. Some entertaining interviews with famous and not so famous.
Doing... too many late nights no enough exercise. Last night I was up until 3am making candles! Crazy!
Excited about... Finishing my course and being able to concentrate on Kandle Co full-time. Our overseas trip is going to be pretty exciting too!!
